There is beauty in being broken.
Being broken is currently Instagram’s unspoken.
Social platforms are like stained glass windows.
They are pretty but, they are not transparent.
They are a manmade fabrication, designed specifically for a user’s self-promotion.
We are the generation that claims to be ‘woken’,
Yet, how can we be ‘woke’ when all we do is sleep on our true emotions?
If we can admire a mosaic for its fragmentation,
why do we struggle with admiring our broken self?
Surely, when we recognise, and accept,
the damaged beauty that is in ourselves,
we can be the generation that forwards the notion,
that there is in fact beauty in being broken.
