The World On A Pause

Dear Yuri,

Is a pause button hitting on our life?

Looking at the highway through my window from my apartment as I count the cars that have passed by for half an hour…Hmm.. my fingers are still holding on to number 4. The liveliness of the city has been engulfed by the cold silence. No hustle bustle, no cars, no traffic.

Looking at the playground where there were supposed to be kids having fun rocking the seesaw, chasing each other, swinging on the swing…but nope, it is all empty. I could even write words or draw smileys on the equipment only by using my finger. No one has been there for a very, VERY long time. Sigh… the children must’ve missed each other.

Subconsciously, it makes me think that it is four o’clock in the morning when it is only seven in the evening.

Everyone’s on masks. When I was out to buy some groceries, I couldn’t see any warm smiles from anyone on the street. I got my temperature checked, and wrote my details in a book. Everything is taken cautiously. It reminds me of the zombie apocalypse that I’ve seen in movies.

It feels like we’re really facing the doomsday. Are we?
