As I look into the night sky, I see the old times and the memories
I see the smiles on my friend’s faces on our weekend get togethers.
I see the kindness in my boyfriend’s eyes when he tells me he loves me.
I’m thankful for our situation because it brings the important things to light.
Did I really live my life to the fullest?
Did I spend too much time away from home?
Did I waste precious moments with my loved ones due to my use of drugs and my need for alcohol?
I can never take back what has happened in the past and we grow and we learn.
6 months later…
My boyfriend still loves me.
I have lived a great life and I’m ready for more.
I get to go back home next week.
Yes time was wasted but we have nothing but time going forward.
6 months later…
And I’m 6 months sober.
