Planet Earth or Planet Art?

Dear Yuri,

We now know that world isn’t “just the world.” We now know what we love. We know who we love. We are
learning who we are.

Looking out my bedroom window, I see change. I see beauty. I see people who care enough about themselves and others to isolate from loved ones for safety. I see people who are strong and willing to turn inward for what they’ve been looking for outside. I see a bunch of wonderful creators connecting online. I see yoga instructors holding virtual lessons, and artists doing shows on Instagram live. I see the importance of music. I see the importance of art.

Art is so important to us that we always find ways to it. Some of us not knowing it, but we are all artists. The little boy who draws a bunch of eights on a sheet of paper and feels each circle in with a different color because he is bored, is an artist. The girl who closes her eyes while listening to music and pretends she is performing on a stage is an artist.

I see children coming alive again. I see rebirths. I see stars under the stars. I see the world pending as we all stay inside and create. We are not afraid to stay inside. We are afraid to live without art.
