Space

Dear Yuri,

This strange Spring has given me the space to slow down to think but not too much in case it gets too scary. I appreciate the small space my home and garden provide me and find comfort there. The skies have been clear over the south west of England for weeks now as the contrails have gone and the ever present blinking lights of aircraft. At night in the gathering dusk accompanied by birdsong I have never heard here before, I stand on my balcony and wait for the International Space Station to pass overhead. It’s become a ritual, a shout out from down here to up there, checking in, saying Hi, thank you for watching over us. And I feel calm and comforted.
